Healthyish Cake Inspired Exfoliating Sugar Scrubs

The real perk of Healthyish’s individually portioned, organic cakes is… you don’t have to share! They’re the perfect excuse to treat yourself. Pair dessert with these Healthyish Cake Inspired Sugar Scrubs, and you’ll treat yourself inside and out!

Exfoliation is a necessary step to keep your skin glowing, and making a homemade exfoliating sugar scrub is easy- just mix the ingredients in a bowl, transfer to a jar, and … that’s it! Plus, homemade scrubs give you the power to customize the scents to your fancy. And, if you suddenly feel like sharing, throw a girls’ night, complete with Healthyish cake making and sugar scrub assembling, or give these scrubs as a gift to someone in need of a little pampering.

Dark chocolate and mint is one of our favorite combinations. We’ve experimented with this combo in our cake a few times:

Organic Mint Chocolate Chip Cake
Peppermint Hot Cocoa & Healthyish Peppermint Cakes

But what’s better than the mint and chocolate combination? Pairing that mint chocolate cake with a mug of coffee (and a refill!).

That’s why we put the three of these flavors together in this invigorating sugar scrub. It’s like an amped Girl Scout cookie, and as an added bonus, there’s a sustainability factor to this exfoliant. Save those French press coffee grounds from your breakfast brew or your cake-time caffeine, and put them to work invigorating your skin.

First, try your hand at these Healthyish Tangy Lemon Cake variations:

Lavender Simple Syrup for Iced Lattes and Lavender Lemon Healthyish Cakes

Then, take all that tangy, lemon goodness to your skin…

The Healthyish Very Vanilla Cake contains organic, ground Bourbon Vanilla beans for a substantial vanilla flavor. Our favorite way to eat this cake? With all the options! We like to go dessert smorgasbord with this cake (ok, you might need some friends to help with this option).

P.S: The natural oils in these homemade sugar scrubs can leave your shower/tub a little slick, so be sure to rinse away any leftover oils and handle jars carefully. As with any new skincare product and more sensitive skin, it’s always good to test a little bit first to make sure your skin will react positively.
