White Wine Sangria

Sangria is a bit of a stretch here. We’re simplifying and we’re not sweetening because we save our sugar for our cakes. This pitcher of White Wine Sangria is really just nectarine, plum and lemon thyme infused white wine. It’s not traditional “sangria,” but we don’t foresee any complaints.

Healthyish Cake Pairings

When it comes to Healthyish cake pairings, we recommend Tangy Lemon and Mellow Yellow cake bases. Top them generously with organic vanilla bean frosting, fresh plums and organic white chocolate chunks. Or, nectarine slices, fresh thyme and a hit of fresh crushed black pepper if you like to ride that line of sweet and savory.

Be sure to have extra white wine on hand to refill your pitcher, and then you can call dibs on who gets the jackpot- all that boozy fruit at the end of the happy hour.

The beauty of this White Wine Sangria, or Fruit Infused Wine, is the flexibility. Lemon thyme or regular thyme pair well with nectarines, but you can also experiment with other herbs, especially if you grow them yourself. Try fresh basil or mint, or a combination of both. Throw in some berries for a sweeter sip. If you want to sip long into the evening, plan on a batch of Frosé too.

  1. This almost always solicits a response along the lines of “so cute! I <3 you!” or “that was such a fun night!” — essentially anything that makes it clear that you and your BFFL had ridiculous amounts of fun that night, and everyone else should be “mad jeals.”
Typically this requires an “aw you two look great” or “so cute! Hope it was a fun night, we will definitely have to meet up sometime!” Also translated into either “I probably still had more fun than you” or “why wasn’t I invited?”
